Life is good...on First Class 20091017074345
I have just been on a short trip to try out First Class on Lufthansa and on Thai Airways. I went from Frankfurt to Hong Kong and after enjoying the First Class Terminal for a few hours (see http://gardkarlsen.com/blog/?p=457) I took the flight to Hong Kong. It was great sitting on First Class on the upper deck of the 747. You can read all about it here: http://gardkarlsen.com/blog/?p=470 After a few days in Hong Kong I went back home via Bangkok and it was very nice getting a massage in the lounge (see http://gardkarlsen.com/blog/?p=485 ) before going back home on Thai Airways first class: http://gardkarlsen.com/blog/?p=497 . I hope that this gives you an impression of First Class :-) Get in touch if you have any questions..

First trip long haul with SAS in Economy: KUL-BKK-CPH-SVG 20090422074342
After a week at work in KL it was time to start the trip back home and I was just getting over the jet lag on the last day there. You can read about my trip going to KUL in SAS business in a separate post. I checked out early from the hotel but as Im a regular at Traders hotel I was allowed to use their facilities throughout the day. But after a glass of wine during happy hour in the afternoon, it was time for me to get on the road. I took a taxi to KL Sentral and from there the KLIA Express train to the airport. If you are flying Emirates or Malaysia Airlines you can actually check in at the train station but as I had a Thai airways flight, I had to drag my suitcase on board the train. If you want to read more about KL feel free to check out my KL trip report on [url]http://gardkarlsen.

Planning a Vacay in Thailand - HELP!!! 20080311071541
How to getin to thailand [b:11f8d9ac26] By plane [/b:11f8d9ac26] Bangkok is one of Asia's largest hubs; practically every airline that flies to Asia also flies to Bangkok, meaning competition is stiff and prices are low. There are also international flights directly to/from Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Ko Samui, Phuket, and Pattaya. The national carrier is the well-regarded THAI Airways, with Bangkok Airways filling in some gaps in the nearby region. Bangkok Airways offers free internet access while you wait for boarding to start at your gate. Many low-cost carriers serve Thailand - see Discount airlines in Asia for an up to date list. For a full at-a-glance list of all Thai-based carriers By road Cambodia - six international border crossings. The highway from Siem Reap and the temples of Angkor via Poipet to Aranyaprathet, once the stuff of nightmares, is now merely bad and can usually be covered in less than 3 hours.

Thai Soap Opera Receives a Cleanup 20080123191501
Longer skirts and shorter catfights were promised on Tuesday by the producers of a steamy Thai soap opera about airline crews that drew a protest from the Thai Airways International union, The Associated Press reported. At a news conference, executives from the Exact Company, which produces the show, said they were sorry if they had offended anyone and would tone down some of the raciness.
